Meet Ancient Egypt
Life and Death in Ancient Egypt
The exhibition takes visitors on a profound journey back in time to explore the captivating world of ancient Egyptians, their rituals, and their beliefs surrounding life and the afterlife.
The close connection of life and death, of this world and the hereafter, was for the Ancient Egyptians an integral part of their creation concepts, and essential for the survival of the world. Consequently, the hereafter was not regarded as fearful, but as an opportunity to continue life together with the Gods. The exhibition deals with the afterlife concepts of the Ancient Egyptians, their mummification techniques and rituals for the afterlife resurrection to the deceased.
Meet Ancient Egypt is a collaboration project between the Meet You Museums in China, the Museums and special collections of the University of Aberdeen in Scotland and Expona. For the first time an important selection of the Egyptian-collection of the University of Aberdeen will be presented in China.
